As Maya reminded us last night, we live in a busy house. She ruminated about it on her way back from piano lessons.

- visiting (as she calls it)

Sometimes a kid just needs time to play… a mom too.
Or walk in the park.

How nice that my six-year-old values unscheduled, creative play time enough to remind me to pull back from the urge to follow every opportunity.
How nice that my four-year-old still has a year and a half of un-schooled time to build the tallest lego fort and conduct rainbow experiments in her underpants (when you’re four, that’s a good thing!).
The ebbs and tides of life with little kids just hum right along, and it’s my job to be sure there is always time for a slow walk in the park.
