savoring the stillness

As ever, a week at the lake nourishes the soul. Living close to our families for just a bit reconnects us all with them, with each other. Spending days in and out of the water with my happy swimmers delivers me back to my own childhood. Long evenings on the shore staring at waves and flames and stars stir some deeply evolutionary need.

And away from the lists and the schedule, away from the lawn to be mowed, the garden to be weeded, the work to be done, we can live in the stillness long enough to catch our breath. We always leave with new plans and realigned priorities. And we leave looking forward to the moment we return.

 Cheers to lake living!
